Water Heater Service and Why You Need It
You may not have taken an ice cold shower lately. Therefore you are not thinking about needing water heater service. Water heater service will enhance your water heaters lifespan and increase its efficiency. Regular maintenance is especially required on your water heater because it is ranked the top most replaced major appliance in the household.

Always maintain 2 feet of clearance around the appliance unless the user guide states otherwise.
Drain about a quarter of the tank a few times a year to reduce built up debris and sediments. Turn off the cold water supply, hook your water hose to the drain valve, then empty into a bucket until the water is no longer dirty.
Touch your water heater. A water heater that is warm to the touch needs additional insulation. Your heat is escaping!
Set your water heater temperature no higher than 120ºF. Higher temperatures can cause serious injuries and a serious bill! Hjgher temperatures also increase sediment build up.
Check the pressure-relief valve Place a bucket below the discharge pipe and gently lift the lever on the pressure-relief valve to test it. Too much pressure could cause explosion!
